ProLeiT at BrauBeviale 2026: Smart automation for the brewery of the future

How can brewing processes be made more efficient, resources conserved, and the highest quality standards met at the same time? ProLeiT will showcase solutions to these questions at BrauBeviale 2026, taking place November 10–12 in Nuremberg. At Booth 10-332, the company will present solutions for process automation, digital documentation, performance analysis, and sustainable production optimization.

Achieve maximum manufacturing efficiency with ProLeiT's integrated process automation solutions.

brewmaxx is a process automation solution developed specifically for breweries, combining process control system and MES functionalities on a single platform. Production processes are fully digitized, with data collected centrally and information provided in real time. Consequently, breweries benefit from greater transparency, enhanced production control and a robust basis for data-driven decisions and ongoing process optimization.

Fermentation Book: Digital documentation of fermentation

The browser-based solution Fermentation Book digitizes the documentation of fermentation processes and largely replaces manual record-keeping. Process and batch data are captured and stored automatically and centrally. This reduces the workload associated with documentation, improves traceability and supports continuous process optimization.

As an extension of brewmaxx, Fermentation Book automatically retrieves relevant process data from the control system and clearly presents it on a tank- or batch-by-batch basis. Laboratory values can also be recorded and linked to the process data. This provides breweries with comprehensive documentation of their fermentation processes, increases process reliability and ensures consistently high product quality.

CIP optimization for greater sustainability and lower operating costs

ProLeiT presents CIPoptimize, a platform-independent solution for the automated optimization of CIP processes. The system collects and documents all relevant cleaning data, providing the basis for efficient resource management.

Through intelligent analysis of cleaning sequences, water, energy and chemical consumption can be reduced and cleaning times shortened. At the same time, the highest hygiene standards are reliably maintained. One particularly attractive feature is that: CIPoptimize can be integrated regardless of the process control system in use.

LINEoptimize and the KPI Engine: less downtime, more performance

Even brief periods of equipment downtime can have a significant impact on productivity. LINEoptimize and the KPI Engine provide breweries with comprehensive visibility of their production processes and key performance indicators.

These solutions automatically collect operational data, analyze the causes of downtime and calculate key metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Breweries can then use this information to identify opportunities for optimization, reduce downtime and sustainably increase plant performance.

Partnership with AVEVA enables group-wide overview

For example, to provide a comprehensive overview at the group level of ongoing production and the associated energy costs at individual breweries, ProLeiT has entered into a close partnership with AVEVA and its data analytics solutions, such as AI and UOC. This was made possible primarily through the joint development of a ProLeiT data adapter for AVEVA-PI and AVEVA-DataHub (now AVEVA Connect).

This data adapter does not simply transfer data from ProLeiT to AVEVA; it enables the contextualized data generated in the ProLeiT system to be transferred to the AVEVA environment without losing that contextual reference. This avoids the time-consuming and potentially error-prone process of generating context – i.e., duplicate engineering work on the partner’s side. And it provides a comprehensive overview for strategic and operational decisions based on a harmonized data foundation.

Further expanding open automation

To better harness the potential of Industry 4.0, ProLeiT is partnering with Schneider Electric to adopt open automation standards. The latest version of brewmaxx supports EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE), a software-centric and hardware-independent automation platform.

For breweries, this means greater flexibility in selecting and modernizing automation components, as well as faster engineering and commissioning processes. This is based on the IEC 61499 standard, which enables simplified integration and communication of automation functions. In this way, ProLeiT lays the groundwork for future-proof production concepts and greater agility in automation.

Customized modernization for long-term equipment availability

Many breweries face the challenge of modernizing existing production facilities cost-effectively while ensuring their availability. ProLeiT supports them with customized modernization concepts, product lifecycle planning, and comprehensive services.

The goal: to avoid unplanned downtime, protect investments, and optimize total cost of ownership in the long term. Thanks to its many years of experience in the brewing industry, ProLeiT develops customized roadmaps that help breweries modernize their facilities in a phased manner.
