ProLeiT at ACHEMA 2024: Production of the future – modular, intelligent and networked

Visit us at this year's ACHEMA, taking place from June 10th to 14th in Frankfurt am Main. We'll be at booth C86 in Hall 11.1 showcasing our process automation and digitalization solutions for the chemical industry, with a special focus on the open automation approach.

The share of adapted products is increasing all the time in the specialty chemicals market. Processes need to be developed as quickly as possible and production facilities must be correspondingly flexible. At the same time, reducing energy and raw material consumption is essential in keeping the carbon footprint to a minimum. ProLeiT is particularly excited to present solutions at ACHEMA that meet these diverse requirements.

Furthermore, interested trade fair visitors can learn about paperless production during a technical lecture by our colleague Verena Mersmann on June 13th and also discover how efficiency and sustainability can be significantly improved with digital production protocols (June 13th, 11:00 am, Hall 4.1, ZETA Pharma Innovation Stage).

Automated CIP processes save significant operating costs

Plant iT CIPoptimize, ProLeiT's new CIP automation solution, ensures the cleanliness and hygiene of process plants and consequently the safety of processed products. Many CIP processes are time-consuming and resource-intensive, consuming significant amounts of energy, chemicals, and water.

Plant iT CIPoptimize has been specially developed to collect all necessary data to fully document the cleaning process. The comprehensive features of Plant iT CIPoptimize help to minimize losses in the cleaning process and increase cleaning efficiency. Both energy and chemical consumption, as well as overall cleaning time, can be significantly reduced thanks to Plant iT CIPoptimize.

Batch management for modular processing plants

Smaller batches, individual products – the chemical industry is also having to adapt to the wants and needs of its customers. And it is doing so by ensuring its production facilities are more flexible and modular than ever before. However, a modular plant only runs efficiently when the modular functional units are interconnected, sensibly coordinated, controlled, and regulated with each other.

At ACHEMA, we will be presenting the conductor for modular processing plants: the Batch Orchestration System (BOS) from ProLeiT.

The BOS is equipped to meet all the challenges of batch management. It is platform independent and can, therefore, be implemented effectively and efficiently in existing production plants.

Systems to manage, monitor and control batch processes are at the heart of the solution. The BOS offers a wide range of options for interacting with running orders: recipes can be dynamically optimized and expanded at any time, independent of the control platform. These optimizations have the potential to significantly reduce material losses, contributing to effective and sustainable resource utilization. Manual weighings can also be easily integrated, thus contributing to paperless production. User-friendly dashboards allow you to prepare key figures in real time and provide valuable insights, for example, into process sequences or plant utilization.

Expanding Open Automation

To fully leverage the potential of Industry 4.0 and further drive the paradigm shift, ProLeiT closely collaborates with Schneider Electric.

ProLeiT collaborates with Schneider Electric to propel this paradigm shift. ProLeiT’s latest V9.90 version supports Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxureTM Automation Expert (EAE), an open, manufacturer-neutral automation solution. This IEC 61499-based tool facilitates seamless function module interconnection and simplifies cross-communication among control components. It promotes hardware-independent software distribution and expedites engineering & commissioning. Transitioning to IEC 61499-based automation systems revolutionizes process and machine design. Platforms like EAE herald a new era of open automation.
