For it’s brewery in the Russian city of Ulyanovsk, SAB Miller has awarded ProLeiT a contract for a complete Manufacturing Execution System (MES) as a platform for SAP interfacing. Consistently automated from incoming malt receipt up to the bright beer tanks, the process engineering system based on brewmaxx V8 entered operation in the summer of 2009. Within the framework of a further expansion stage, the implementation of an MES system - including batch tracking from the receipt of raw materials up to the delivery of finished goods to the warehouse, and even the integration of the utility and packaging plants - is now in progress. The data for a total of three bottling lines is made available based on the 2005 Weihenstephan Standards. The overall objective of this ambitious approach is to realize a system-wide MES solution for production and packaging which not only comprises materials management and batch tracking, but also detailed management reports with key productivity indicators and even consumption statistics for energy, water and the utilization of raw materials.
