LyondellBasell Industries Basell Polyolefine GmbH, Wesseling/Germany - Control system for modernizing polyethylene logistics

A control system was developed for modernizing polyethylene logistics, as subcontracter of Waeschle Maschinenfabrik for the plant in Wesseling. This system manages about 20,000 paths and 700 bunkers. A special redundancy server provides for the disposal of the highly available extruders. On the one hand, the control system monitors the redundant S7-416 programmable logic controllers. On the other hand, it ensures that the straight path is immediately switched to the corresponding second PLC as soon as a malfunction has been detected. The system topology can be modified even without a special programming device. The ProLeiT OS-NT V5.0 assumes all visualization and controlling tasks, whereas the ProLeiT TF-FL module was developed for meeting all special requirements with regard to conveyor logistics.
