Guinness Anchor Bhd, Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia - Automation solution

 

In a contract granted by Heineken Technical Services B.V., ProLeiT automated the brewhouse, the malt plant, the fermenting room and the storage cellar of the Guinness Anchor brewery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The first project phase that concerned the brewhouse and the malt plant was completed already by the end of 2002. This project covered the controllers for brewhouses 3 and 4, including the hot water plant, CIP, malt acceptance and the grinding plant. Because WinCC as Scada system had already been introduced in the brewery, the visualization was also implemented for the project with WinCC, whereby the functionality was extended using a number of brewmaxx components.
The second project phase was completed at the end of 2004. This project covered the control of the fermenting room and the storage cellar with more than 40 tanks, including the CIP plants with a brewmaxx system. The previously automated areas, brewhouse 3 and 4, were connected using Ethernet, the bottling area was connected using I/O.
The third project phase, that was completed at the end of 2006, covered not only several changes, such as the conversion to larger BBTs, the inclusion of the deaerated water plant and updates of the servers and workstations, but in particular, the inclusion of a Steinecker TFS candle filter with twin flow technology and the automation of a production plant for a beer mixed beverage ("Shandy").
