Technology-based process control engineering and IT solutions for breweries and manufacturers of non-alcoholic beverages at the BRAU Beviale

This year, brewmaxx and ProLeiT are organizing their appearance at the BRAU Beviale trade fair together. From 12 – 14.11.2003 they will be exhibiting newly-developed technological functions of the tried and tested brewmaxx Liqu iT system and also diverse entirely newly-developed system components at booth 113 in Hall 5.

The premiere par excellence is the ISA S88 compliant brewmaxx Batch iT, which is being utilized for the first time in a Greenfield project covering all process stages of a brewery.

The entire functionality of this technical high-end solution will be presented by means of a brewery application sample.

brewmaxx Trace iT, the solution for the new legal requirements in the area of batch traceability for production and bottling processes, is also to be viewed as a forward-looking innovation.

brewmaxx Liqu iT

The user interface of the tried and tested brewmaxx Liqu iT has been modernized and the system platform has been expanded by means of a range of additional technological functions.

Route Control

In addition to the basic functionality of compiling entire routes by parameterization, Route Control also offers the possibility of monitoring switched routes and barring of corresponding product sequences in connection with the new category “contamination area”.

Production quantities can be calculated or parameterized respectively by means of the volume relevance attribute.

Further noteworthy innovations regarding the technological functions are categories for double-seared valves, parameterizable frequency converters and standardized monitoring possibilities for breaches of threshold values.

Regarding application-specific additional functions, a range of optionally obtainable function packages from completed projects are available such as e.g.:

Order list / Job list

Facilitates the automatic starting and execution of programs according to time targets or the ascertainment of free resources and their allocation respectively (G+L).

Sequence overview

Offers online visualization and clear grouping of parameterized sequences with status displays.

Recipe import / export

Is an MS Excel Add In for the import and export of recipes.

brewmaxx Batch iT

brewmaxx Batch iT is the batch management system of the brewmaxx system family.

It models and automates batch-oriented manufacturing processes such as, for example, the entire production process of a brewery. Increasingly strict product traceability requirements are met by means of the mechanisms for batch traceability which is already implemented in the system.

brewmaxx Batch iT is consequently in alignment with ISA standard S88.01 which fundamentally stipulates the separation of the physical system and the functions.

In this way, higher flexibility of the production systems is ensured and the introduction of new products is significantly simpler.

The following should be mentioned as particularly noteworthy newly-developed functio

• Order administration
  Orders/batches can be planned, commenced, monitored and also traced via the order list.
• Phase controller
  The phase controller forms the interface with batch management, with order administration and with materials management. All batch-relevant information such as recipe parameters and currently active order and batch numbers with corresponding material-specific data such as ingredient numbers with setpoint values and actual values organized by source and target indications are visualized in a compact way.
  In terms of control, the phase controller displays a sequence control process with diagnosis functions for step enabling conditions (transitions) as well as their control possibilities (forcing of transition inputs).
  In combination with the control and route logic, it forms the core of the batch process control with comfortable operator guidance and comprehensive batch diagnosis.
• Graphical order and batch visualization
  A graphical order list facilitates navigation via a partial order view or via a matrix-based batch overview respectively. With its help, batches which are in production can be selected and can be modified in the course of the active process.
• Integrated materials management with batch traceability
  The batch manager ensures seamless batch traceability both on the order / partial order level as well as on the batch/phase level with materials procurement in combination with system-integrated material management with detailed inventory maintenance.

brewmaxx Trace iT

brewmaxx Trace iT is the system component for order and product traceability as well as technical reporting.

Almost always installed with a brewmaxx Acquis iT and Connect iT, it forms in its entirety a process middleware which can also integrate existing automation landscapes.

With brewmaxx Batch iT, the brewmaxx system platform thereby fully meets the requirements of a brewery with regard to production and bottling, offers in addition an efficient variant for classical batch processes as required in particular for blending systems and syrup rooms.

Incidentally: brewmaxx is based on the Plant iT system platform developed by ProLeiT.
